玩家可将交通工具从碰碰车变形成飞机或小船。

本作为2010年竞速游戏《索尼克全明星赛车》续作，游戏增加了变形功能，玩家可将交通工具从碰碰车变形成飞机或小船，以克服竞赛过程中的飞行或水面赛道变化，还可在空中大玩翻滚动作。参加竞速选手除了音速小子外，还有大家熟悉的蛋头博士、《Skies of Arcadia》中的Vyse，以及《战斧》（Golden Axe）中的Gilius Thunderhead等人。

游戏舞台则横跨中世纪古堡、热带雨林及大都市等丰富场景，玩家可驾驶汽车、飞机、机车等各种交通工具与其他角色同台竞速，过程中还可以各种武器及道具和对手战斗。本作并支持最多8位玩家联机对战，还可透过画面分割进行脱机4人对战。
